Industrial Hygiene

Safety First, Inc. provides a full range of industrial hygiene services. Our professionals and technicians have conducted exposure surveys, personnel/area sampling and monitoring in a variety of settings, including food processing, refinery, chemical, residential, etc. Maintaining a healthy workplace is not only the right thing to do, it makes good business sense. A safe and healthful workplace increases operational productivity and reduces absenteeism. Furthermore, being in compliance with Occupational and Safety Health Administration (OSHA) and other regulations can help you avoid costly fines and judgments, as well as the negative publicity that goes with them.
Air monitoring and other environmental samplings/ testing are conducted using NIOSH and OSHA methods when available, supplemented by ASTM or EPA and other methods as necessary. Air monitoring is conducted for comparison with established occupational exposure limits such as the OSHA Permissible Exposure Limit (PELs) or American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienist (ACGIH) Threshold Limit Value (TLVs). In some cases the results are compared to a higher standard, such as that set forth by the company. Where regulatory compliance comes in, respiratory exposure assessments are required by the 1998 revision to the OSHA respiratory protection standard. Based on the exposure potential and client needs we can conduct both quantitative and qualitative assessments. Safety First, Inc. uses only labs that are accredited by the American Industrial Hygiene Association.
We offer comprehensive audits, program reviews, training, air monitoring and other specialized to ensure that clients get the most thorough safety and industrial hygiene services as possible:
